For Teens

As a teen you may feel as though no one understands you and what you are going through. I enjoy working with teens to help you feel more understood, for others (especially your caregivers) understand you, and to feel accepted and heard. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone neutral when it comes to your life. I hear it all the time, my clients saying “I just want someone to talk to.”  I can listen to your difficulties and help you see things in a different way, a more positive way.

As we begin working together we will go over confidentiality. Our relationship is confidential, meaning anything we talk about in session stays between you and I. There are certain reasons that by law I would have to tell someone what we have discussed, I can go over those specific reasons with you when we talk for the first time. Basically confidentiality is the Vegas Rule, what is said in session stays in session. That being said if you have support from family members to join you for sessions we will talk about what is discussed in therapy, but never anything (except those “by law” stuff we talk about) you do not want to talk about. I just ask that you give me a heads up.

Therapy is tough, I know it is not easy and there will be times you definitely don’t want to come to session. Succeeding in therapy and your life is about you doing the work for Your life. As much as I like to think I am magic and can make all the bad stuff go away I can not. I can help you see things differently, process things in a more positive way, and support you in becoming more hopeful. Therapy works when you are ready to do some work and let it out.

If you would like to see if I can be a good fit for you, give me a call.
