About Me!
I really love working with youth, emerging adults, and their families. People often wonder “How do you do that?” “That must be so hard.” It can be, but the majority of the time it is very rewarding. I have learned that sometimes you have to climb mountains to get to the good stuff. Standing at the bottom of a mountain looking up can seem daunting and scary but if you can start taking steps toward your happiness you will succeed. Youth are smart and resilient and take on a lot but do not always know how to cope, and parenting is the hardest job in the world. Any way that I can support success drives my passion to work with youth and families. I am a parent myself and I get it, I understand the difficulties, joys, and the ups and downs of raising a healthy and loving family.
No one knows your child better than you. I am here to help your child and you, as a family, find peace and wellness together.
If you are an emerging adult or a teen check out your tabs for more information on what therapy may be like for you.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working with youth, adults, and families. My approach to therapy is working in partnership with you and utilizing different types of techniques and interventions based on your specific needs and goals.
Therapy is a challenge. You do the hard and rewarding work. I will not just sit in front of you and smile and nod throughout our session, I will ask you questions, challenge your thoughts, and help you see alternatives from the negative ways you have been feeling. It’s like climbing a mountain (or getting to something that seems out of the question at first) but once you start moving there are times when it is really tough and you want to turn around, but once you reach that top whatever your summit may be you know you got there on your own.
If you would like to see if I can be a good fit for you, your child, or your family; give me a call.
Looking forward to start climbing with you!
